BIOGRAPHY

AASince graduating from the Rhode Island School of Design in 1987, Dave Lowe has worn many artistic hats. He began his career as a freelance illustrator for Lowell House Publishing in 1988. His style served as model sheets for the entire Gifted and Talented Workbooks series. Most recently, he provided illustrations for Sterling Publishing’s Not Another Teen Knitting Book.
AAA brief stint as a production assistant led to a 20 year career in television. In that time Dave has been Art Director and Set Designer on
numerous series and specials for networks such as NBC, MTV, Discovery Channel, HGTV, DIY and SCI FI. Dave has also designed and created projects for some of television's most well known lifestyle experts and decorators. His imagination has been showcased on various children’s programs. He is currently working on the new Nickelodeon game show: Brainsurge.
AAAs a custom prop maker Dave has created a large variety of items for special events, print, trade shows, theater and private commissions. He designed and made the dramatic centerpieces and chandeliers at the 2001 Academy Awards Governor's Ball for famed event planner Edgar Zamora. Dave lives in Los Angeles, California, where his sense of fun and fantasy has made his home the “go-to” location in the neighborhood every Halloween!

A brief stint as a production assistant on TV's Bloopers and Practical Jokes led to a 20 year career in television. In that time Dave has been Art Director on MTV's Tom Green Show, Discovery Channel's Interior Motives with Christopher Lowell, HGTV's Outer Spaces, DIY’s Knitty Gritty, Uncommon Threads, and Craft Lab, Style Network’s newest series I Propose, and numerous other series and specials.

Dave has also worked
behind the scenes designing and creating projects for some of the "all stars" in lifestyle television and for the next generation of up and coming talent.

His particular brand of imagination has also been showcased on various children’s programs, including Fox Kids’ Cubhouse, A.J.’s Time Travelers and two daily interstitial series, The Basement and Morning Scramble, both for Fox Family Channel.

As a special props designer and stylist Dave has created a large variety of items for such clients as Westrim Crafts, Los Angeles Times Magazine and the rock band BUSH. He was even called upon to design the unusual and dramatic centerpieces and chandeliers for the 2001 Academy Awards Governor's Ball for events designer Edgar Zamora.

Dave Lowe lives in Los Angeles, California, where his sense of fun and fantasy has led his home to be the “go-to” location in the neighborhood every Halloween!
